AI Animation Still Sucks, So the Peck Got Animated by Hand

I tried my best. I ran the Peck through a lot of AI animation models, and not one of them did what I wanted. Sliding feet, wings through the body, a "glide" that looked like a paper plane.

So... anyway. We went with hand animation. The Peck looks much nicer this way, and you can actually put the zing into it that a Peck is supposed to have. A real animator built the rig in Blender and keyed every clip by hand: takeoff, landing on a branch, landing on the ground, the crash, the preen, the dive, the lot.

If the video won't play here, it's on YouTube.

A word about the Pecks themselves

They live on another planet. A very far away planet, to my knowledge. But don't let the cute fool you. These birds are not as simple as they look at first glance. They have figured out a way of communicating with us, through magical crystal portals on their side. On our side, those portals look like ordinary screens. Quite an impressive feat, I must say.

More soon.

Come and fly it

Sky Peck is a flying adventure your kid steers with their whole body. Spread your arms, flap, and the living room becomes the cockpit.

Or see tonight's Jungle, the leaderboard, or peck yourself a name in the Name Pecker.
