We Made a Meme Game, and We Didn't Know That

So. Apparently we are Bird Game 3.

Nobody told us. There was no memo. One day I'm a dad building a flying game with my six-year-old test pilot, the next day I learn that the internet has been laughing about "the birdgame" for the better part of a year — and we accidentally built it.

Let me explain, because this story is genuinely one of the strangest things the internet has ever done.

The meme

In October 2025, an AI-generated video appeared on TikTok. In it, someone finds a video game at the store: Bird Game 3, in a case for the Xbox 50.

There is no Xbox 50. There is no Bird Game 1 or 2, let alone 3. Every frame of it was AI slop. It didn't matter.

The internet ran with it like a pigeon with a french fry. More videos appeared: people "unboxing" Bird Game 3, "gameplay" of enormous multiplayer bird battles, egg-stealing modes, nest raids. Sequels were announced (by nobody). Patch notes were argued about. To this day there are people online having sincere, heated debates about whether the pigeon is overpowered. In a game that does not exist. On a console that does not exist.

And then it got better: the meme got so big that real developers started shipping actual games called Bird Game 3, just to make the joke true. The internet didn't just imagine a game — it wished one into existence.

Pico the parrot, looking unusually dramatic, on a Birdgame 3 movie poster that says "The Meme Awakens"

That's our Pico up there, by the way, in his villain arc. The flock made posters. I don't make the rules.

Meanwhile, in our living room

Here's the part that gets me.

While all of this was happening — while the internet was hallucinating a bird game — a dad and a six-year-old were already building one. A real one.

And not just a bird game. Arguably the most bird game a bird game has ever been: in Sky Peck you don't press buttons to fly, you flap your arms. You stand in front of the camera, spread your wings, lean to turn, flap to climb. You finish a session out of breath, like a bird would.

The internet wanted a birdgame so badly it invented one out of thin air. We just... made it. With a straight face. Without knowing we were a meme.

I've decided that's the best product validation I'll ever get. You can run surveys, you can do market research — or you can find out that millions of people spent a year joking about wanting exactly the thing you're building.

So we leaned in

If the internet says we're the birdgame, then fine: we are the birdgame. Birdgame3, if you must.

We built a Birdgame Meme Generator — free meme templates straight from the meme itself (yes, including the Xbox 50 case), big Impact letters, and everything renders right in your browser, because the Sky Peck habit of never uploading your stuff applies to memes too.

Go make one. Post it. Tag it #skypeck so the flock finds it.

And if you came here from the meme, searching for a bird game that actually exists: welcome. The Xbox 50 isn't real. The birdgame is.

Come and fly it

Sky Peck is a flying adventure your kid steers with their whole body. Spread your arms, flap, and the living room becomes the cockpit.

Or see tonight's Jungle, the leaderboard, or peck yourself a name in the Name Pecker.
